FEARbuddies (schedule HERE) is an exchange-format event in which participants will sign up to create a specific work (similar to a Big Bang or a fest), described with projected rating and archive warning(s) upon signup. This may be a new work or a preexisting WIP. The participant will be matched with someone who will cheerlead, beta, or otherwise hold them accountable for finishing the work. In turn, the participant will match to someone in order to cheerlead, beta, or otherwise hold their "recipient" accountable for finishing their work.
Providing a deadline and a recipient is only an incentive for people to actually finish personal projects. You are not required to fill a prompt from your recipient.
Signing up with multiple projects is allowed, as long as you are prepared to be the cheerleader, beta, or accountability partner for multiple people. You will need to sign up with a second AO3 account to have a second project.
If you need to drop out for whatever reason, you can do so by simply hitting the Default button on your assignment. Pinch hits will go out on this Dreamwidth community, and will be a call for someone to become the accountability partner for the person who now needs a cheerleader, beta, or accountability partner, not your "recipient".
Since FEARbuddies is very much a nonstandard event, signing up will work differently from both exchanges and bangs.
The fields upon which FEARbuddies will match are as follows: Rating, Warning, Fandom, and Additional Tag. Your request will be for the kind of support you want to RECEIVE, while your offer will be for the kind of support you want to GIVE. Please feel free to use the Optional Details box to lay out a brief description of your project, but don't feel obligated to.
A few notes:
- The "Fandom" field is NOT for the fandom you are creating in, but rather for the length and type of fanwork you will be creating.
- If you are unsure whether your creation will hit any of the archive warnings, please select "Choose Not To Warn".
- If you would like to see another type of support, fanwork medium, or length added, please comment on this post.
Here is the schedule for both FEARs.
